New PBS Kids show ‘Kid Stew’ features Austin girl

Saturday and Sunday, PBS unveils a new TV show “Kid Stew” that promises to be about kids, for kids and made by kids. The first episodes features Austinite Matilda Solis, who is a ballerina. She talks about her art in the Amazing Kids portion of the show., which was developed by author James Patterson.

Matilda filmed the show, which is made in South Florida, when she was in the pre-professional program at the Miami City Ballet. She is now at the School of American Ballet on a full scholarship, the show tells us. She began dancing at Ballet Austin.

The show airs 8:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday on KLRU. The episode will repeat June 30.
